TNR Saves Lives and Controls Cat Population
Our mission is to improve the lives of feral and homeless cats by humanely stopping their breeding through Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR). TNR is the only proven maintenance program to be effective, humane and long term in controlling feral and stray cat populations. Under the TNR program, feral cats are humanely trapped, spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and returned to their original location for continued oversight by their caregivers. The left ear is “tipped” as a universal identifier that the cat has been sterilized and vaccinated. We do not relocate cats and do not have the capability to take additional cats or kittens into our care.
Community Cats Rescue Network (CCRN), a small, volunteer-based 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the humane treatment and control of feral and stray cats. This rescue was formed in Fredericksburg, Virginia. However, in 2018 CCRN expanded its services to SW Virginia covering counties of Wythe, Bland, and surrounding areas.
CCRN assisted with spaying and neutering over 425 cats in calendar year 2023. As stated, we use the low-cost spay neuter clinics vs veterinarian clinics; however, there are most always added costs each trip and donations received are expended quickly.
We hope we can count on your support in our efforts to raise awareness of the plight of the feral and stray cat populations in our neighborhoods, and to come together as a community to share the responsibilities of humanely controlling the population growth of both feral and pet cats through affordable spay and neuter.
We will contact you as soon as possible regarding your message and TNR needs.
